Dunlop Sportsmart 2
Dunlop’s new technologically advanced tyre for sports bikes, delivering comfort, superior handling, optimised wet and dry grip.
Dunlop has changed construction of both front and rear tyres.
The Sportsmart 2 is Dunlop’s first road tyre to use Steel Jointless Belt (JLB) casing construction along with Jointless Tread (JLT) and Multi Tread Compound Technology (MT).
The key benefits;
The JLT construction is one floating ply, replacing two breakers in the tread making it lighter and helping it give great steering response.
Being lighter than the previous Sportsmart makes the steering more responsive. Dunlop’s testing shows the Sportsmart 2 has 23% faster steering response time when compared to its predecessor.
The ‘reverse V direction’ tread pattern gives improved drainage over the Sportsmart. The new shoulder compound gives improved wet and dry grip.
The introduction of a hard centre compound enables high mileage, increased riding stability and even wear, helping maintain performance, extend tyre life and reduce vibration.
